Shortcuts, the command palette, search operators, offline mode, Wingman, importing from Gmail or Outlook, passkeys and billing. A human replies within an hour.
See every shortcut
Press ? anywhere in Emwing to see the full list. The ones you’ll use a hundred times a day: J and K to move, E to archive, R to reply, S to star, Z to undo and H to hand off.
Remap any key in Settings → Keyboard. Your layout follows you to every device you sign in on.
Use the command palette
Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux) to open the palette. Type anything: a person, a label, a setting or an action, then press ↵.
The palette learns. Things you open often float to the top, so most jumps take two keystrokes.
Switch to Gmail-style or Vim-ish keys
Go to Settings → Keyboard → Layout and pick Emwing classic, Gmail-style or Vim-ish. The change applies instantly, and ? always shows the keys for the layout you’re using.
Search operators
Type from:ida, to:sam, has:attachment, before:2026-06-01, after:2026-01-01, label:travel or is:starred. Combine as many as you like, for example from:ida has:attachment invoice.
Results appear as you type, because search runs on the copy of your mailbox on your device.
How offline mode works
On Jet and Squadron, your mailbox is cached on your device. With no connection you can read, search, reply, archive and star.
Anything you send waits on the runway and goes automatically, in order, the moment you’re back online. A small plane icon in the corner tells you how many are waiting.
How much space does the local copy use?
Emwing stores text and recent attachments on your device and fetches older attachments when you open them. A typical 5 GB mailbox takes up about 1.5 GB locally. You can cap it in Settings → Storage.
Hand off an email
Press H, pick a teammate and add a note. They get the email with your note on top, and you both see who has it.
Press H again on the same email to take it back, or to hand it on to someone else. Hand-offs are available on Jet and Squadron.
Import from Gmail or Outlook
Go to Settings → Import, choose your provider and sign in. Mail, labels and contacts come across in the background, and you can keep working while they land.
Big mailboxes usually finish within a few hours. We email you when the last message is in.
Forward mail from your old address
Once your import is done, turn on forwarding in your old account so new mail keeps arriving in Emwing. Replies can go out from your old address too: add it in Settings → Addresses.
Set up a passkey
Go to Settings → Security → Passkeys → Add passkey and follow your device’s prompt. After that, press P on the sign-in screen and you’re in, with no password to type.
Reset a forgotten password
On the sign-in screen, press “Forgot?” and type your Emwing address. We send a 6-digit code to your recovery email. It expires after 15 minutes.
If you’ve lost access to your recovery email as well, write to support@emwing.com from any address and we’ll verify it’s you.
Use your own domain
On Jet and Squadron, go to Settings → Domains → Add domain. We show you the exact DNS records to add at your registrar and check them automatically, usually within minutes.
Change or cancel your plan
Go to Settings → Plan. Upgrades apply right away; downgrades and cancellations apply at the end of the billing period.
Yearly plans cancelled within 14 days are refunded in full, no questions asked.
Download invoices
Every invoice is in Settings → Plan → Invoices as a PDF, with your company name and VAT number if you’ve added them. Squadron admins see invoices for the whole team.
